Naming ceremony
No doubt about it, it’s a lovely thing to celebrate the arrival of a baby in to a family, but many people don’t want to chose a traditional service ceremony such as a christening.
Choosing a celebrant –led naming ceremony gives you the space to create a celebration that is perfect for welcoming your precious bundle of joy into your family with songs, readings, prayers and rituals chosen by you, for you. And you can chose where and when too!
Your chosen guardians can make their own personal promises to your baby rather than read out words from a book. You can even involve all your family and friends in the ceremony if you want to – I can give you all the ideas you need to make your occasion perfect for you.
What We Provide
Naming ceremony costs:
For a naming ceremony within an hour’s travelling time from my home I charge £300 which includes a £100 non-refundable booking fee. Further travel or equipment (e.g. sand ceremony kits etc) will incur further reasonable costs, but we can discuss and agree these.
When considering your options, it is worth noting that this price is less than booking a registrar to come to your venue.
The price covers:
• A guaranteed booking of your celebration day. The whole day is booked out to you so there is no pressure to have to rush things on the day.
• A meeting of about an hour, where we discuss what you would like included in your ceremony.
• A unique Naming Ceremony script, written by me with input from you, to welcome your little one in to the world. This will be sent to you for your approval or amendment.
• Help writing Guardian promises, if you so wish.
• Advice on readings, rituals and other aspects of the service.
• My delivery of your ceremony on the day.
• A personalised naming certificate and presentation script, if you would like one.
